Homework Centers

Since 2002, our free Homework Centers program has helped thousands of students in grades K-8 improve their grades and subject comprehension. Homework Centers are located in 10 branch locations after school Monday through Thursday. Students who participate in the program receive homework assistance from trained tutors in the following subjects:

  • Language Arts
  • Math
  • Reading
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Homework Center sessions are led by our Homework Center Coordinators. Homework help is provided by a combination of trained tutors from the America Reads programs at local colleges and universities, such as Baldwin-Wallace University, Cuyahoga Community College, John Carroll University, Notre Dame College and Ursuline College; and through the dedication of trained volunteers who graciously give their time to help students. Adults interested in volunteering at our Homework Centers locations are invited to learn more at our Volunteer Opportunities page.

Homework Center Locations

Each Homework Center location offers two after-school sessions. Each session is 1 hour and 15 minutes.   Also, Homework Mentors are available at 12 additional library branches for two hours after school.
