Library Restriction Policy

Cuyahoga County Public Library reserves the right to suspend or ban customers that do not follow the Library's Code of Conduct. Customers engaged in conduct that poses an immediate risk to health or safety may be expelled from library premises without prior warning and with or without the assistance of local law enforcement.

Restrictions on library use will be enacted for a period of time based on the severity of the offense, the customer’s history or policy violations, and any other relevant factors. Once the period of the suspension is complete, and before they can regain library access, customers must meet with Library staff to discuss continued use of the CCPL system.

Juveniles who violate the Library’s Code of Conduct may be restricted from the library depending upon the severity of the misconduct. Once the period of the suspension is complete, and before they can regain library access, juveniles are expected to bring a parent or guardian to meet with Library staff to discuss continued use of the CCPL system.

Adopted by the Cuyahoga County Public Library Board of Trustees on February 28, 2017.
