General education diploma (gED) CLASSES

We partner with local Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) organizations to host FREE adult General Education Diploma (GED) classes in our branches. Participants must attend a mandatory orientation session before beginning GED classes.

Adults who wish to attend free GED classes at the Library must first attend an orientation session.

Garfield Heights Branch
Summer Orientation is Monday, June 26, 9:30 AM
(Classes held Monday and Thursday mornings, 9:30-12 noon)

Maple Heights Branch
Summer Orientation is Tuesday, June 13, 9:30 AM —or—  Monday, June 26, 6 PM

English for speakers of other languages (esol) classes

If you need to learn English, or just sharpen your language skills, you’ve come to the right place. We partner with local Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) organizations to host FREE beginning, intermediate and advanced-level ESOL classes. Adults who wish to attend our free ESOL classes must complete an orientation session.

Classes for adults 19+ over (sorry, children not permitted). Orientation is mandatory.

    North Olmsted Branch 
    New students must register (call 440-891-7647 to register) and take a pre-test; students must attend all classes.
        Session I (Intermediate Level) -  CLASS TIMES: Tuesday & Thursday, 6:45-8:45 PM: May 30 - June 29
        Session II (Intermediate Level) - CLASS TIMES: Tuesday & Thursday, 9:30 AM - noon
