Please join us at the William N. Skirball Writers' Center to welcome Cuyahoga County Public Library's new Writer in Residence for 2017-2018, novelist Claire McMillan. As Writer in Residence, Claire will teach writing classes, have open office hours, and participate in select library events.

CCPL's first Writer in Residence, poet Dave Lucas (2016-2017), will also be on hand to welcome Claire and share his project, the Writers Reading Podcast, with the audience. After a brief program, we will serve refreshments provided by the Friends of South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch.

Claire McMillan is the author of The Necklace, published in July by Simon & Schuster, and Gilded Age. She grew up in and around Pasadena, CA. Claire practiced complex corporate litigation in San Francisco until 2003 and then received an MFA in creative writing from Bennington College. She currently lives on her husband’s family’s farm near Cleveland with their two children.
