Amalia Haas, beekeeper and environmental educator, will lead an interactive series on beekeeping. Learn about honey from flower to bee, crystallization, fermentation, and how terroir affects a honey’s sensory qualities. Changing landscapes, modern agriculture, climate change and globalization all play a role in pollinator decline. Learn steps we can all take to ensure our food security and help bees thrive in today’s challenging environment. Week 1: From comb to bottle; Week 2: Planting a pollinator garden; Week 3: Making nature’s cosmetics from hive products.
