Event Type: General

Join Sylvia Abrams, Professor Emeritus and past Dean of Siegal College, for a four-week series on the discussion of two historical novels: March and The Secret Chord. Participants will compare and contrast Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine BrooksÂ’ novels with their original sources. From Louisa May AlcottÂ’s beloved classic Little Women, Brooks takes the character of the absent father, March, who has gone off to war, leaving his wife and daughters to make do in the meantime. Borrowing from the Bible, Brooks develops the story of the legendary warrior, King David.
