Acclaimed YA novelists Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely to speak at free Cuyahoga County Public Library event
Authors' timely and powerful book, All American Boys, explores racial tension
Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, authors of the Coretta Scott King Honor Award-winning novel All American Boys, will speak at the Maple Heights Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL) on March 20th at 7:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase signing courtesy of Mac's Backs - Books on Coventry. Registration is requested.
All American Boys is the story of two teens — one black and one white — who grapple with the repercussions of a single violent act that leaves their school, community and country bitterly divided by racial tension. This timely and powerful novel was the recipient of the Walter Dean Myers Award for Outstanding Children’s Literature.
All American Boys has been chosen for Milkovich Middle School's One School One Book program. Reynolds and Kiely will visit Milkovich Middle School earlier in the day to discuss the book with students
