Dean DePiero appointed to Cuyahoga County Public Library Board of Trustees
Former State Representative and Mayor of Parma appointed to a seven-year term
Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL) is pleased announce the addition of Dean DePiero to its seven-member Board of Trustees. DePiero was appointed to a full seven-year term by the Cuyahoga County Executive with confirmation by Cuyahoga County Council. His term expires in January 2024.
Dean DePiero has served as Of Counsel for McDonald Hopkins since 2005. He has a depth of experience working in state and local government as a lawyer and an elected official. DePiero is currently the Law Director for the City of Aurora and Assistant Law Director/Prosecutor for Broadview Heights, Ohio. He currently serves on the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation Board and has also served as the elected Mayor of Parma, Ohio’s seventh largest city and as an Ohio State Representative.
DePiero earned a J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1994. He received a B.A. from Ashland University in 1990.
CCPL Board of Trustees members are tasked with representing the citizens' interests while promoting the highest level of library service appropriate to the community in accordance with state law. Board members are appointed for seven-year terms by Cuyahoga County government and the Court of Common Pleas, and they serve without remuneration. The Board of Trustees has no taxing authority and must have Cuyahoga County government place ballot issues before voters in the 47 communities in CCPL's service district.
